Overview
Connect your Slack workspace to Inbox Zero to receive notifications and interact with your AI email assistant directly from Slack. You can get meeting briefings delivered to a channel, receive auto-filing notifications, and chat with the AI by sending it a direct message or @mentioning it.Connecting Slack
The “Add to Slack” button lives inside your Inbox Zero account, so you’ll install the app from the Channels page.- Sign up for a free Inbox Zero account at getinboxzero.com and connect your Gmail or Outlook email account
- Click Channels in the left sidebar
- Find Slack in the list and click Connect
- Authorize Inbox Zero in the Slack OAuth flow (Slack will show the requested permissions and an Allow button)
- After redirect, pick the Slack channel you want to use for notifications and meeting briefs
Features
Meeting Briefing Delivery
Receive your Meeting Briefs in a Slack channel instead of (or in addition to) email. To set this up:- Go to Channels in the left sidebar
- Select your Slack channel for meeting brief delivery
- Toggle on Slack delivery
Auto-Filing Notifications
Get notified in Slack when attachments are automatically filed to your drive. See Auto-File Attachments for details on setting up auto-filing. To enable:- Go to Attachments in the left sidebar
- Open the Integrations section
- Toggle on Slack notifications
Chat with the AI Assistant
You can interact with your Inbox Zero AI assistant directly in Slack:- Direct message the Inbox Zero bot to start a conversation
- @mention the bot in any channel it’s been added to
Selecting a Channel
After connecting Slack, choose which channel receives notifications:- Go to Channels and select a channel from the dropdown
- The bot will automatically join the selected channel
- A confirmation message will be sent to verify the connection
Disconnecting
To disconnect Slack:- Go to Channels in the left sidebar
- Click the menu (⋮) next to your Slack workspace and choose Disconnect Slack
