# Delayed Actions

> Automatically perform actions on emails after a set time.

Delayed actions let you automatically perform actions on emails after a set period. This is perfect for low-priority emails that are only relevant for a short time before they become noise in your inbox.

## How It Works

Add a delayed action to any rule in [AI Personal Assistant](https://www.getinboxzero.com/automation). When an email matches the rule, the action will be performed after the delay you specify.

**Common use cases:**

* **Auto-archive newsletters** after 7 days — they're still searchable if you need them later
* **Send replies with a short delay** (e.g., 2 minutes) to make automated responses feel more natural
* **Clean up notifications** that are only relevant for a day or two
